How to Get an MW4 Beta Code: Free Codes, Discord Nitro, Preorder & Redemption

You can get an MW4 Beta code through a physical or retailer preorder, selected promotions, Discord Nitro, or Samsung. However, you do not need a code if you preordered Modern Warfare 4 digitally, and you do not need one at all for the free MW4 Open Beta starting August 28.

Here is exactly who needs a code, where to get one, and how to redeem it.

Do You Need an MW4 Beta Code?

It depends on how you are getting into the Beta. Digital preorders are automatically registered for Early Access, while physical and participating retailer preorders normally provide a Beta code.

How to Get an MW4 Beta Code

1. Preorder Modern Warfare 4

If you preorder MW4 digitally through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Battle.net, Steam, or the Call of Duty in-game store, you do not receive or need a Beta code. Your account is automatically registered for Early Access.

Physical editions and some retailer purchases work differently. Your MW4 Early Access code should normally appear on your receipt, online receipt, or retailer email. If it is missing, contact the retailer that sold you the game.

2. Get a Free MW4 Beta Code With Discord Nitro

Eligible Discord Nitro members can claim an MW4 Early Access Beta code at no extra cost. The code gives access to the August 21 to August 25 Early Access period.

To claim it:

• Open Discord on desktop or in your browser.
• Open Direct Messages and select Nitro Home.
• Find the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Beta Code reward.
• Select Unlock Rewards.
• Select Unlock Code and copy your code.

The code must then be redeemed through the official Call of Duty Beta redemption page. Discord says MW4 Beta codes must be redeemed by August 25 at 10:00 AM PT.

Nitro Basic and Nitro Classic are not eligible. Nitro Credits without an active Nitro subscription and some third-party promotional Nitro trials are also excluded.

Discord Nitro MW4 Beta Code Not Showing?

Discord is rolling Nitro Rewards out gradually. If the MW4 reward is not in Nitro Home yet, first make sure you have an eligible full Nitro subscription rather than Nitro Basic or Classic.

Discord also says support cannot manually add the reward or speed up its rollout to your account.

3. Get an MW4 Beta Code Through Samsung

Samsung announced another way to get free MW4 Early Access. Selected players can receive Beta Early Access codes through the Samsung Promotion app and use them to play from August 21 to August 25.

Samsung TV users can check the Samsung TV Gaming Hub for code availability and promotion details. Availability is limited, so owning a Samsung device does not guarantee a code.

Can You Play the MW4 Beta for Free Without a Code?

Yes. If you do not get an Early Access code, you can simply wait for the free MW4 Open Beta.

Weekend 2 begins on August 28 at 10:00 AM PT and is open to all players on supported platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2. No MW4 preorder or Beta code is required.

How to Redeem an MW4 Beta Code

Once you have a retailer, Discord Nitro, Samsung, or other promotional code:

• Go to callofduty.com/betaredeem.
• Sign into your Activision account.
• Enter your MW4 Beta code.
• Select the platform you want to play on.
• Select the region that matches your platform account.
• Complete the redemption.

Activision warns that selecting the wrong region can result in receiving a platform token that you cannot redeem, so check this carefully before confirming.

MW4 Beta Code vs Beta Token: What's the Difference?

This is where the process can get confusing.

Your MW4 Beta code is the code you get from a retailer, Discord Nitro, Samsung, or another promotion. You enter this code on the Call of Duty redemption page to register for Early Access.

Activision then sends you an Early Access Beta token for the platform you selected. This second token is what gives you access on that platform.

Beta tokens will start being sent shortly after the MW4 Early Access preload begins on August 20 at 9:00 AM PT. They will be sent to your Activision account email and will also appear on the Beta redemption page once issued.

MW4 Beta Code Not Working?

Most MW4 Beta code problems fall into a few categories:

• "You already used the code entered" usually means your Activision account is already registered for Early Access.
• "The code entered has already been redeemed" means that specific code has already been used.
• If the code is invalid, check every character carefully. Activision currently supports 10 or 13-character codes depending on how the code was issued.
• If your physical preorder code is missing or unreadable, contact the retailer.
• If redemption worked but you have no Beta token yet, wait for token distribution to begin after the August 20 preload starts.

Should You Buy an MW4 Beta Code?

There is little reason to pay a large amount for a resold Beta code. Eligible Discord Nitro users can get one through Nitro Rewards, Samsung is distributing promotional codes to selected users, and the Open Beta becomes free for everyone on August 28.

Beta codes are also single-use, so buying one from an unknown seller carries the risk that it has already been redeemed.
