Hey everyone! Right now I’m going to talk to you about Valorant’s Reyna and how you can utilize her better to solo carry, get aces and climb ranks.
I’m a professional Valorant booster and whenever I can’t stack up with my colleagues, I play Reyna and just stomp over everyone.
The guide won’t be too complicated and if you take notes, you will definitely improve your Reyna game, starting today. Let’s dig in!
1. Why is Leer so powerful?
Leer is definitely one of the best CC spells in the game. Phoenix and Breach also have blinds, but Reyna’s is far more superior, it cannot be dodged, you can only not look at it by either looking away (bad idea) or hiding behind a cover.
Re-peeking after Reyna throws the Leer won’t do you any good because the eye stays there for a couple of seconds and only disappears after that, or when someone destroys it. Not to mention that Leer can be used through the walls!
This means that you basically have a free push into the site or the enemy you’re trying to 1v1. He either needs to hide (you push then) or try to destroy it (you have free 2-3 bullets onto him). On top of all this, unlike Phoenix and Breach blind, Leer doesn’t blind your teammates.
In order to make the most of it, place yourself just around the corner you’re trying to push, if you have teammates with you, announce that you’re Leering in with a simple 3, 2, 1 countdown.

2. Use your Leer above or under head level
Many new players simply throw Leer at head level which allows enemy players to quickly destroy it without moving the crosshair a lot (since you’re supposed to hold the crosshair at head level 99% of times) and then flick to you easily and kill you.
However, if you throw it significantly higher into the air, or ground level and then push if the enemy is trying to destroy it and kill you on time, he will have a significantly harder time because of the time it takes for him to flick to Leer, destroy it, and then flick back to you. You should have him dead by then. It’s worth noting that Leer is destroyed with around 3 Vandal shots.
3. Don’t be afraid to use both Leers
If you still somehow get punished after you cast the first Leer, don’t be afraid to use two leers, don’t push with the first one and push with the second one hoping that enemies will relax after the first one thinking you won’t be “so bad” to use the second one right away.
Additionally, mix up the placement of first and second Leer, throw first one in the air, and the second one on the ground level, for instance, surprise the enemies, if they get used to where you throw the Leer, they will have a faster reaction time.
If you don’t want to “waste” the first Leer, just peek out for a split second to get info where they are and hide before it gets destroyed. This will allow you to position your crosshair
accordingly for the second Leer at which you will push.
4. Reyna is best on pistol rounds - use it
Reyna is best on pistol and eco rounds, simply because you’re the only agent that can have up to 150 HP during the round. Once you kill the first enemy with the pistol, you heal up to 150 HP while nobody else has shields.
This can allow you to easily snowball easily and maintain up to 150 HP during the whole round by playing aggressively.
Just make sure not to push alone if possible because enemies will try to stop your healing by peeking out and trying to damage you since you need to maintain a line of sight with the orb
, this is when an extra pair of hands comes extremely useful in order to assist you.
5. Practice playing aggressively with Operator
Reyna is amazing on Operator exactly because of how good Leer is. You should be holding strategic and aggressive angles on the map such as mid areas with Operator if your team doesn’t have an Operator player.
Once you do a Leer, peek out and pick up a kill, you can also use Dismiss instead of heal if you haven’t taken serious damage, use the short duration of immunity to scout for more enemies, and reposition once again for another Leer Operator shot.
6. Practice canceling dismiss
Dismiss can also be canceled, and many Reyna’s don’t do it because they just wait for it to expire and feel good being immune. However, a good Reyna if repositioned well, will cancel her Dismiss and pick up a kill from an unexpecting enemy.
This is especially true when dueling another, bad Reyna. She will wait for you to completely expire and try to pick up a kill, not being fully prepared that you can actually cancel it earlier and surprise her.
7. Open the round with an ult sometimes
Opening the round with Reyna’s ultimate which gives her increased fire rate and reload speed can create insane pressure on the enemy team. Picking up the first kill is very important and if you manage that with your ult, it changes the whole tempo of the round.
Each kill fully refreshes the duration of her ultimate and if you push hard enough while having an advantage, you can even keep the ult up for the whole round. This strategy will be especially useful if used during a round where you’re playing a Pistol, Spectre, or Bulldog, those weapons are weaker but with increased fire rate they become super deadly. Just manage your recoil.
Not to mention that her ult automatically heals Reyna as soon as she kills someone, no need to press the heal key, and her Dismiss doesn’t give her immunity again, but rather full invisibility, allowing for a great reposition or surprise kills.

8. Use the ultimate after a bomb plant
Reyna’s ultimate lasts for 30 seconds while the bomb plant lasts for 45. This means that you can keep your ultimate for the whole duration of the bomb plant by using it strategically a few seconds after a bomb plant.
Even though a bomb lasts for 45 seconds, enemies have to start engaging much sooner if they want a defuse, meaning that you will have your ult up for the full effective duration of the bomb.
The same works for attackers, as soon as you’re close to the site, pop it and get the effective part of the retaking of the site under your ult, giving you a lot more chance to win.
