Overwatch Competitive 6v6 Elimination Is Here

By | News | No Comments

What is Overwatch’s 6v6 Elimination?

Blizzard has decided to suddenly update the game with a new competitive mode today. The mode is called 6v6 Elimination and it comes with awesome rewards which we will feature below and explain everything you need to know.

Everything You Need To Know About the 6v6 Elimination

Season 1 of 6v6 Elimination is now live.

For starters, you may get confused and think that this is a competitive mode where you can only queue as a 6 stack team. This is not true. It only means the matches are 6v6, you can still queue alone or in stacks.

6v6 Elimination can be found under the Arcade menu, to be precise, it’s called 6v6 Lockout Elimination. Just like the name says, after you win a round in a match, you cannot choose that hero anymore for the remainder of the match! Meaning your hero pool gets smaller with each round making the game more intense.

The maps in the rotation are Ecopoint: Antarctica, Ayutthaya, Black Forest, Castillo, and Necropolis. In order to win you need to defeat the enemy team three times.

How Does Competitive Play Work?

You start with 10 placement games just like in normal ranked mode and you are placed somewhere in 1-5000. Your hidden matchmaking-rating is taken from the normal ranked mode.

The mode includes a Top 500 ladder, end of season rewards in forms of sprays and Competitive Points rewards that stack with the CP rewards you get from normal ranked, that’s twice the amount of CP you can now get to purchase your precious Golden weapons!

Just don’t forget about the 6000 CP cap, meaning, if you save 6000 CPs, you will not receive more CPs for winning games, but you will still receive an end of season CPs.

Gold – 150 CP
Platinum – 300 CP
Diamond – 450 CP
Master – 750 CP
Grandmaster – 1000 CP

You will also receive a spray and a player icon for participating. For the best of the best, there’s a Top 500 ladder that will reward you a Top 500 spray and a player icon.
