ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons are one of the biggest progression changes coming with Frozen Trail on October 8, 2026. Instead of only raising a gun through normal quality upgrades, Amplification adds a new fifth quality level with branching upgrades that can change how a weapon behaves.
This guide explains how Weapon Amplification works, how to unlock it through the Outpost Research Workstation, every upgrade Embark has confirmed so far, and what we still need to learn at launch.
What Are Amplified Weapons in ARC Raiders?
Amplified Weapons are a new late-game weapon progression system launching with the
ARC Raiders Frozen Trail update. Embark describes Amplification as a new
fifth quality level that opens a branching path of abilities and enhancements for supported weapons.
The important difference is that Amplification is not just another small stat increase. It can change the way a gun works, allowing familiar weapons to fill a different role in PvP or against ARC.
Embark has confirmed that
15 weapons will support Amplification at launch, with more planned later. The studio has publicly shown examples for the Burletta, Renegade, and Rattler, but it has not yet published the full list of all 15 supported guns.
Amplified Weapons vs Normal Weapon Upgrades
Normal weapon upgrades improve a gun through the existing progression system. Amplification sits above that system and is designed to specialize a weapon by giving it new behavior or a new combat role.

How to Unlock Weapon Amplification
Weapon Amplification is tied directly to the new Outpost progression system. You cannot simply find the menu on an existing Gunsmith bench and start Amplifying weapons immediately.
Embark has confirmed that Raiders need a
fully upgraded Research Workstation in their Outpost before they can access the fifth weapon quality level and its branching upgrades.
1. Unlock the Outpost
Frozen Trail adds the
Outpost as an extension of your Raider Den. It gives you a new progression space where you can install modules, add furniture, and research new systems.
The Outpost is also where Weapon Amplification begins. If you are still finishing your existing benches before October 8, our
ARC Raiders Workshop Leveling service can help you complete your current Workshop progression before the new system arrives.
2. Fully Upgrade the Research Workstation
The Research Workstation is the key requirement. Embark says the fifth weapon quality level becomes available through a
fully upgraded Research Workstation, so this will be a late-game progression goal rather than an instant unlock.
Exact Outpost upgrade costs and the full path to a max Research Workstation have not been published yet. We will add those requirements once Frozen Trail is live and the complete progression path can be verified.
3. Research a Supported Weapon
Press previews of Frozen Trail describe Amplification as a research system for individual weapons. That means players should expect to unlock or research supported weapon upgrades before crafting the final Amplification.
The exact research objectives for each weapon are not yet public. We will add every confirmed requirement to the weapon table after launch instead of guessing from pre-release footage.
4. Collect the Required Materials
Amplification also requires resources gathered during raids. Preview information points to normal materials and ARC components being part of the process, but Embark has not published the final recipes or quantities.
If you want to prepare a broad resource reserve before October 8, our
ARC Raiders Materials service can help you stock the materials you already know you will use across crafting and progression.
5. Choose Your Amplification Path
The final step is the most important. Amplification uses
branching paths, so the goal is specialization rather than simply stacking every possible upgrade on one gun.
That means two players using the same base weapon may end up with very different versions depending on the branch they select. Embark has said this system is meant to create more variety in late-game loadouts and give underused weapons new reasons to exist.
Skip the Research and Material Grind
Choose your weapon and desired Amplification path, and our PRO Raiders can complete the required research, farming, and upgrade progression for you.

How Amplification Changes Weapons
Amplification is interesting because it can change more than damage or handling. Embark's confirmed examples show that the system can alter a weapon's fire mode, optics, ammunition effects, and magazine setup.
Depending on the gun, an Amplification path may change:
- Fire mode
- Magazine size
- Ammunition effects
- Optics and effective range
- Handling and firing behavior
- How useful the weapon is against Raiders or ARC
- The role the weapon fills in a solo or squad loadout
Embark has also said the goal is not to make every Amplified weapon automatically stronger than the current meta. The system is intended to create more interesting choices and give players new PvP and PvE loadout options rather than simply lowering time-to-kill across the board.
Confirmed ARC Raiders Amplified Weapon Upgrades
Only three weapon examples have been officially described in detail so far. These examples are enough to show how different the new branches can be, but they are
not the complete launch list.
Burletta Amplification
Embark's clearest Burletta example is a
fully automatic Burletta. This is a major change because it turns a familiar pistol into something with much faster sustained fire.
We still need the final fire rate, recoil, magazine behavior, material cost, and any tradeoffs before deciding where the full-auto Burletta sits in the meta. For now, the important point is that Amplification can completely change a weapon's firing behavior.
Renegade Amplification
The confirmed Renegade example adds a
scope. That could push the weapon toward a more dedicated long-range role and give players a different reason to use it instead of replacing it with another rifle.
The First Look does not reveal the scope magnification or whether the branch changes other stats. Those details should be tested in the live build before we recommend it for PvP or ARC encounters.
Rattler Amplification
The Rattler has the most detailed official example so far. Embark says an Amplified Rattler can gain
incendiary bullets and a
64-round magazine.
That shows how far the system can push an existing weapon. Incendiary ammunition could change how the Rattler performs against targets over time, while the larger magazine gives it much more sustained fire before reloading.

All ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons & Upgrades
Embark has confirmed that
15 weapons will support Amplification when Frozen Trail launches. The studio has not yet revealed the full list, so any article claiming to know all 15 before launch is relying on leaks, assumptions, or incomplete preview footage.
We will keep this table limited to confirmed information and expand it as soon as the live update lets us verify every weapon, branch, research requirement, and recipe.

If a supported weapon also requires a Blueprint you do not own, our
ARC Raiders Blueprints Boosting service can help you unlock the missing crafting recipe. We will update that page with new Frozen Trail Blueprints once their acquisition methods are confirmed.
Best Amplification for Every Weapon
There is no responsible way to rank the best Amplification paths before Frozen Trail launches. We know what several branches do, but we do not yet have complete recoil values, damage behavior, crafting costs, PvP performance, ARC breakpoints, or the full 15-weapon pool.
Once the update is live, this section will separate recommendations into:
- Best overall Amplification for each supported weapon
- Best PvP Amplification
- Best ARC / PvE Amplification
- Best solo option
- Best squad option
That distinction matters because Embark has said Amplification is meant to create different PvP and PvE choices rather than produce one universal upgrade that is always best.
How Much Does Weapon Amplification Cost?
The exact cost of Weapon Amplification has not been published yet. We know the system involves the Outpost Research Workstation, weapon research, and resources collected during raids, but final recipes and quantities need to be checked in the live October 8 build.
The cost section will be updated with:
- Research Workstation upgrade requirements
- Research objectives for each weapon
- Material requirements
- ARC component requirements
- Any Coin costs
- Any time-gated research requirements
- Total estimated time for each Amplification path
Do not burn through rare resources based on pre-release guesses. Save a broad reserve until the exact recipes are visible, then target the weapon and branch you actually plan to use.
Can You Lose an Amplified Weapon?
ARC Raiders is still an extraction game, so taking a valuable weapon Topside always carries risk. Embark has not published a full explanation of what happens to every part of Amplification progression when an Amplified gun is lost to another Raider.
The main questions that still need live verification are whether research remains permanently unlocked on your account, whether a replacement copy must be Amplified again, and how much of the material investment is tied to the individual weapon.
Until those rules are confirmed, treat an Amplified gun like other valuable equipment: do not bring it into a raid unless the possible reward is worth the risk. If you lose an important base weapon, our
ARC Raiders Buy Weapons service can replace supported weapons without waiting for another lucky drop.
Are Amplified Weapons Worth It?
Amplified Weapons look like one of the most important late-game systems in Frozen Trail, but that does not mean every weapon should be Amplified immediately. The value depends on the research cost, material cost, branch strength, and whether the final weapon actually fits the way you play.
Before committing expensive resources, consider:
- How often you use the base weapon
- Whether the branch improves your PvP or ARC role
- How hard the required materials are to replace
- Whether you normally play solo or in a squad
- How much risk you are comfortable carrying into raids
- Whether another supported weapon gives you more value for the same grind
For players already deep into endgame progression, Amplification should create a real reason to revisit weapons that have fallen out of the meta. For newer Raiders, finishing core progression first may still give better value than rushing directly into the fifth quality tier.

Best Ways to Prepare for Amplified Weapons Before Frozen Trail
Frozen Trail does not launch until October 8, so you cannot complete the new Research Workstation or Amplification paths yet. You can still prepare your account so you are not starting from behind when the system becomes available.
Finish Your Existing Workshop Progression
The Research Workstation is a new Outpost system, but existing Workshop progression will still matter for crafting and general account readiness. Finishing your current benches now removes one more grind from launch week.
Keep a Broad Material Reserve
Do not guess which single resource will be most important. Keep useful crafting materials and ARC components rather than converting or selling everything before the update.
Unlock Important Weapon Blueprints
If one of your favorite weapons receives a strong Amplification path, you do not want the base Blueprint to become the bottleneck. Prioritize weapons you already use and any meta options you expect to keep playing after October 8.
Build a Healthy Coin Reserve
Embark has not confirmed whether Amplification itself uses Coins, but Coins remain useful across the rest of ARC Raiders progression. Having flexibility on launch day is better than entering a new late-game system with no reserve.
Reach a Comfortable Account Level
Amplification is being positioned as late-game progression. If your account still needs basic levels, Workshop upgrades, Blueprints, and usable gear, finishing those systems first will make it easier to focus on the new research grind when Frozen Trail arrives.
Our
ARC Raiders Leveling Boost can help you finish your current level target before the update launches.
