Gorr the God Butcher Joins Marvel Rivals
Gorr enters Season 10 as a
Duelist. The god-killing villain fights with All-Black, a living weapon that changes form, and Black Berserkers that help him pressure enemies.
His kit combines close-range attacks, summons and movement. If you enjoy choosing when to dive into a fight and when to pull back, he is worth trying in the practice range before your first ranked match.
Gorr's Abilities and Playstyle
Gorr's main tools work together like this:
- All-Black: a melee combo with the Necrosword.
- Black Berserker: creates a summon that attacks nearby enemies.
- Necro-Power: slows a target and brings Berserkers into the attack.
- Living Abyss: moves Gorr forward in symbiote form, leaving a Berserker behind.
- Shadow Harvest: warps to a chosen Berserker, consuming it for bonus health and an explosion.
- Twilight of the Gods: strengthens his assault and spawns Berserkers beside enemies in range.
A useful starting habit is to think about where your summons are before committing. An aggressive position may help you chase a target, while a Berserker behind cover can give you somewhere safer to return.
If you plan to main Gorr, our
hero proficiency system guide explains how progression works and which cosmetic milestones you can work toward.
Why Season 10 Has Only One New Hero
Gorr is the only new hero planned for Season 10. The developers are putting the second half's focus on two new modes for Phases 3 and 4 of Path to Doomsday. Season 11 is planned to return to two new heroes.

Marvel Rivals Season 10 Ranked Rewards and Changes
Gorr's Gods' Graveyard Ranked Skin
Gods' Graveyard for Gorr is the confirmed Season 10.0 Gold-tier costume reward. It is a competitive reward, separate from the Battle Pass and his store costumes.
The launch notes do not spell out additional match requirements, the exact claim time or Season 10's rank-reset details. Check the Competitive rewards panel when the update opens for those conditions.
If this skin is your goal, check your eligibility early and leave time for another session. Reaching the required rank is easier to plan around when you are not also racing the reward deadline.
New Hero Ban Rules
At
Gold III and above, bans move to a
1โ2โ2โ1 order:
- Team A bans one hero.
- Team B bans two heroes.
- Team A bans two more heroes.
- Team B makes the final ban.
Players vote on their team's choices, and duplicate bans are removed. That leaves six different heroes unavailable to both teams.
Our advice is to keep a few backup picks ready. With more distinct heroes removed from each match, relying on one favorite gives you less room to adapt.

The Godbomb is Season 10's battle pass, with costumes for ten heroes alongside other cosmetics and currency rewards. White Fox's Cosmic Kumiho, Captain America's Astral Aegis and Loki's The Chronicler are named in the official announcement.
The Battle Pass lineup includes the following costumes. Check the in-game reward track for the final names and unlock order.
| Hero | Costume |
| White Fox | Cosmic Kumiho |
| Captain America | Astral Aegis |
| Doctor Strange | Astral Arcana |
| Loki | The Chronicler |
| Groot | Grootlactus |
| Squirrel Girl | Savage Squirrel |
| Psylocke | Business Elite |
| The Punisher | Vengeful Vigilante |
| Hawkeye | Thunderbolts |
| Blade | Silvered Slayer |
The Battle Pass is expected to cost
990 Lattice. Check the in-game price before buying and review which rewards belong to the free and premium tracks.
Before buying, open the pass and check the pages for heroes you actually play. If you mainly want one costume, look at its unlock requirements as well as the entry price.
Scarlet Witch Rework and Major Balance Changes
Scarlet Witch's New Chaos Mark Playstyle
Scarlet Witch gets a new ability,
Scarlet Hex, that sends out a shockwave and marks enemies. Damaging marked targets gives her bonus health, and her primary attack can hit multiple marked enemies.
Dark Seal also applies marks, with an initial stun followed by damage and a slow. Her ultimate damages nearby enemies while charging. These changes come alongside reduced movement speed during Mystic Projection and lower base primary damage.
Official balance notes.
The practical takeaway is to practice applying marks before following up. Her abilities now connect more closely, so your old attack sequence may need adjusting.
Biggest Buffs, Nerfs and Team-Up Adjustments
These are selected changes from the balance update, grouped by role:
| Role | Notable changes |
| Vanguard | Captain America and Emma Frost gain health. Magneto loses health and shield strength. The Hood and The Thing also lose durability. |
| Duelist | Wolverine's attacks improve. Black Cat trades Phantom Pursuit invincibility for damage reduction and Unstoppable. Spider-Man's Amazing Combo cooldown is shorter. |
| Strategist | Jeff, Loki and White Fox gain healing improvements. Cloak & Dagger lose some healing and offensive utility. |
| Team-Ups | Captain AmericaโThor duration increases; MagnetoโScarlet Witch becomes weaker; Spider-ManโPeni Parker gets a shorter cooldown. |
Strategists also generate less ultimate energy: healing conversion falls from
70% to 65%, and damage conversion falls from
55% to 50%. The official balance notes include the exact values for every affected hero.
Our expectation is that this creates more openings between defensive ultimates. Whether that changes the strongest team compositions will depend on how the new patch plays out.
The God Quarry Map and Season 10 Roadmap
The God Quarry is a new Domination map scheduled for
September 25. That gives players something else to learn after Gorr's opening week.
The Season 10 roadmap spreads events and costumes across several updates:
| Date (2026) | Scheduled content |
| September 11 | Gorr, The Godbomb, The Tetrameron, launch costumes and the Family Portrait Tablet accessory |
| September 17 | Jeff's Dream Eater, Jeff's Superstar Seeking, Jubilee and Magneto Pajama Party costumes, Moon Knight's Eternity Knight |
| September 25 | The God Quarry, Galacta's Gift Vol. 3, Mantis and Daredevil Pajama Party costumes, King Thor |
| October 2 | Celestial Messenger costumes for Luna Snow and Phoenix |
| October 9 | Season 10.5 begins |
October 9 marks the midseason update, not the end of the whole season. Path to Doomsday's next phases are planned for the second half, with detailed mode information still to come. For context on an earlier phase, our
Age of Ultron guide covers that event's cooperative battles, builds and rewards.
If you only have a few sessions each week, use the roadmap to choose what matters most. You can focus on learning Gorr first, then return for the map and event releases.
Season 10 Events and Free Rewards
The Tetrameron is a seasonal story event where you help Loki, The Chronicler, complete tasks. The event offers rewards, but the launch announcement does not give a complete item-by-item unlock list.
The later event schedule gives you more reasons to check back:
| Event | Starts | What to check |
| The Tetrameron | September 11 | Story tasks and their displayed rewards |
| Jeff's Dream Eater | September 17 | Event tasks, reward track and any paid options |
| Jeff's Superstar Seeking | September 17 | Participation rules and costume rewards |
| Galacta's Gift Vol. 3 | September 25 | Costume Coin requirements and the refreshed exchange selection |
The developers have announced a Costume Coin and new exchange options for Galacta's Gift. Check the available selection before choosing a skin, especially if you have several favorites.
For each event, read the reward labels before spending currency. A themed costume appearing beside an event does not automatically mean it is a free task reward.
Season 10 Twitch Drops
Free Squirrel Girl Will of Galacta Costume
The Squirrel Girl campaign runs from
September 11 at 12:00 UTC to October 9 at 09:00 UTC. Its reward track uses these watch-time milestones:

| Will of Galacta nameplate | 1 hour |
| Skipping Squirrels emote | 2 hours |
| Will of Galacta costume | 4 hours |
To earn and claim them:
- Sign in to the official Marvel Rivals Twitch Drops page and link the correct Twitch and game accounts.
- Watch a qualifying Marvel Rivals stream with Drops enabled while the campaign is active.

The costume milestone is four hours total. Keep an eye on the inventory page to make sure the stream you picked is counting.
Cyclops and IGNITE Broadcast Rewards
Cyclops' Will of Galacta cosmetics are tied to IGNITE Stage 2 broadcasts. Drops roll out in batches from September 17, with the final batch launching on October 15 at 11:00 UTC. Some rewards are only available during particular weeks.
Check each batch's eligible channels and watch requirements separately. Progress in the Squirrel Girl campaign should not be treated as progress toward the esports rewards.
New Store Skins and Other Updates
Launch costumes include
Divine Destroyer Gorr,
Dreamy Duo Cloak & Dagger and
Glittering Goddess Emma Frost. Later releases include more Pajama Party outfits, King Thor, Eternity Knight Moon Knight and the Celestial Messenger costumes shown in the roadmap.
The rest of the update also includes:
- Season 4 battle pass return: Fruit of Immortality returns for purchase through Reality Link Point from September 11 to September 24, ending at 09:00 UTC.
- Endgame Encore extension: the event continues until October 9 at 09:00 UTC, with a 20% Encore Coupon discount on eligible MCU costume bundles.
- Achievement updates: revised conditions preserve previous progress and completed unlocks.
- College Perks: the eligible costume selection rotates.
- Esports rewards: IGNITE predictions and MRC participation offer additional rewards. MRC's announcement specifies at least six Open Qualifier matches.
- Performance and fixes: Intel XeSS 3 Frame Generation support arrives alongside hero bug fixes and clearer effects.
Check eligibility and event timers in-game before committing to a reward grind or purchase. The Competitive, Events and Battle Pass screens show the conditions that apply to your account.
