Veto: Valorant's New Sentinel Agent Is Revealed
Introduction
Valorant just unveiled its newest Sentinel,
Veto, at the VCT Champions 2025 Grand Finals in Paris. Players are eager to see how his abilities could shake up the competitive meta heading into VCT 2026.
From suppressing enemy utility to teleportation and self-enhancement, Veto promises to be a game-changer for both casual and pro players alike.
Veto Overview
Veto hails from Senegal and stands out as a Sentinel who doesn’t just defend but actively disrupts enemy strategies. Empowered by an unstoppable DNA mutation, he combines utility denial, teleportation, and regeneration, making him a hybrid of some of Valorant’s most iconic agents.
Valorant New Agent Veto Release Date
Veto was officially revealed on October 5, 2025, during the Valorant Champions Grand Finals in Paris. He will release in-game on October 7th, 2025.
Veto’s Abilities
- Chokehold (Q): Fires a fragment that traps enemies in place and applies Deafened and Decayed debuffs. Opens space for counter-attacks and can be destroyed before activation.
- Crosscut (C): Deploy a vortex energy ball to teleport while aiming at it. Can be retrieved and redeployed during the buy phase for flexible positioning.
- Interceptor (E): Deploys the Phage to destroy enemy utility like Raze’s Boom Bot, Jett’s Cloudbursts, Sage’s Wall, or Gekko’s Wingman. Can be destroyed but pressures opponents to waste resources.
- Evolution (X) – Ultimate: Fully mutates Veto, granting combat enhancement, regeneration, and immunity to debuffs. Lets him push aggressively rather than anchor defensively.
Veto’s Role in the Meta
Veto is designed to counter utility-heavy strategies. His combination of anti-utility tools, teleportation, and regeneration makes him a flexible pick. Unlike traditional Sentinels, he can switch between holding sites and creating openings for his team, potentially becoming a staple in competitive lineups for VCT 2026.
Pro Play Potential
In pro play, Veto can redefine map control.
- Interceptor can force opponents to waste utility or reroute attacks.
- Crosscut and Evolution allow late-round clutch plays and flexible positioning.
- He blurs the line between Sentinel and Duelist, offering new strategic possibilities.
