What Is Soul Capture Event?

In Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, it's now a regular tradition to introduce fresh challenges every season. In Season 2, the "Path of the Ronin" event required players to finish a series of tasks to unlock the Crossbow and later earn a new mastery camo called "Bowing Blossoms."

Moving on to Season 3, the "Trophy Hunt" event had players collecting trophies dropped by defeated enemies, which they could trade in for weapon blueprints, calling cards, and vehicle skins.

Season 6 follows a similar pattern but replaces trophies with "souls." Additionally, the "Operation Nightmare" introduces a new kind of mission for Warzone enthusiasts, where players must complete a bounty board. Here's a rundown of what you need to know about both of these events.

Warzone & Modern Warfare 2 Soul Capture Event Start & End Date

The "Soul Capture" event in Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 began with The Haunting update on October 17, 2023. This event is scheduled to run until November 5, 2023, as indicated by the in-game menu, which shows a countdown of 19 days from the start.

How To Complete The Soul Capture Event

The "Soul Capture" event in Modern Warfare 2 is part of The Haunting and requires you to gather captured souls in each match. In this event, when you eliminate an opponent, they drop a soul that you can collect.

However, the number of souls you can collect in a match varies depending on the game mode. The souls you collect are accumulated and can be used in multiplayer, battle royale, and DMZ modes. You can save them and exchange them for rewards in the event tab.

The Soul Capture event is similar to the previous Trophy Hunt event with kill tokens, but the advantage here is that you don't have to manually deposit tokens during your DMZ or Warzone match. Souls are automatically saved across all modes in this event.

Furthermore, on October 14, an additional six rewards will become available, such as a weapon camouflage, a battle pass tier skip, and a weapon charm. Achieving the unlocking of any 10 items in the event rewards will earn you a Mastery operator skin for Roze, and reaching 15 unlocked items will grant you a Mastery operator skin for Konig.

How To Get Souls For Soul Capture Event Fast

The number of souls you can gather in each match depends on the game mode. For instance, in Search and Destroy, you can collect up to 15 souls per match, but this mode usually has slower matches compared to Kill Confirmed, which offers 12 souls per match.

One of the quickest ways to amass souls is by playing multiplayer matches on small maps. You can jump into the Shipment 24/7 playlist, where you can earn 12 souls per match.

If you're aiming to gather souls in Warzone, it's advisable to choose a respawn mode like quads or trios in the Resurgence playlist to increase your chances of getting kills. The most favorable option appears to be Massive Resurgence Quads, which offers a generous 20 souls per match. However, it might still take a bit longer than playing on Shipment, depending on your playstyle, but it's the best choice for those who don't own Modern Warfare 2.
