EA has now published the complete
Battlefield 6 Update 1.4.3.0 patch notes, so we no longer have to rely on the original Season 4 roadmap for the final details.
Battlefield 6 Deep Six Collection Event
Deep Six is the main Collection Event for Tidal Strike and runs from
September 15 through October 12.
Players can progress the event across both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC by completing contracts and collecting intel devices. Rewards include Weapon Packages, customization items, and the new Royal Navy Dive Knife.
The important part is that Deep Six progression is not locked to one mode. If you prefer regular Battlefield 6 Multiplayer over REDSEC, you can still work toward the Collection Event rewards.
Royal Navy Dive Knife
The
Royal Navy Dive Knife is the final reward for completing the full Deep Six Collection Event.
Unlike the early information available before Tidal Strike launched, EA has now confirmed that the knife is tied to
full event completion, rather than simply being one reward somewhere on the track.
We have a separate guide covering the event progression and rewards in more detail in our
Battlefield 6 Deep Six Event guide.

Battlefield 6 Phantom Program Is Now Solved
The
Phantom Program is a limited-time REDSEC operation built around hidden intelligence, Blacklight messages, encryption devices, and the security breach beneath Fort Lyndon.
When Tidal Strike first launched, EA only explained that players would need to gather intel and reconstruct access information. The full Easter Egg has now been solved, and it is much harder than the original description suggested.
The main progression includes:
- Opening 30 Dark Ops Crates.
- Completing 10 REDSEC Battle Royale matches.
- Finding the special Blacklight Pistol around the crashed aircraft carrier.
- Using it to reveal a hidden Phantom message.
- Decrypting the message to reveal an encryption device location.
- Retrieving the encryption device.
- Winning the Battle Royale while completing the Phantom run.
- Repeating the encryption sequence across three consecutive wins.
- Entering the underground Phantom bunker.
- Defending the final terminal for roughly 8 minutes.
The three consecutive wins are the hardest part. You have to complete the Phantom run during each successful match, and losing before the streak is finished means rebuilding the consecutive-win progress.
For every location, challenge, and tip, read our full
Battlefield 6 Phantom Program guide.
Can You Complete Phantom Program in Solos, Duos and Quads?
Yes. EA says the Phantom Program is available in
Solos, Duos, and Quads whenever those playlists are active.
A coordinated squad is still the easiest option. The later stages combine the Easter Egg with winning the actual Battle Royale, so teammates can protect the device carrier, secure rotations, and help during the final bunker defense.
Is Phantom Program Available in Casual BR or Portal?
Current completed runs show that the main Phantom progression needs to be done in
regular REDSEC Battle Royale.
Casual Battle Royale and Portal-hosted BR do not work for the full live Phantom sequence, even if parts of the event UI appear there.
Need the Phantom Program Completed?
Choose the full Phantom Program or order only the remaining challenges you need, including the difficult consecutive extraction runs and final bunker defense.

Proximity Chat in Battlefield REDSEC
Tidal Strike launched Battlefield 6's first version of
Proximity Chat through Battlefield Labs in REDSEC Battle Royale.
The system changes voices based on where other players are standing. Direction, walls, indoor spaces, and vehicles can all affect what you hear, which means nearby enemy communication can become another source of information during a match.
Players can switch voice channels below the Commo Rose, globally enable or disable Proximity Chat, and use the Battle Royale scoreboard to see recent nearby speakers. Up to
four nearby players can be heard at the same time.
Proximity Chat Is Currently Disabled
Shortly after Tidal Strike launched, EA
temporarily disabled Proximity Chat while investigating an issue with the feature.
In its latest official status update, EA said Proximity Chat will remain disabled until a fix is implemented. You can check the
official BFComms status update for the latest information.
The underlying feature has not been removed. This is part of the Battlefield Labs in Live approach, where EA can switch the feature off while changes are being made.
For more on the mode itself, check our
Battlefield REDSEC Battle Royale guide.
Tsuru Reef Breakthrough Changes
Tidal Strike made major changes to
Breakthrough on Tsuru Reef after EA found that the previous layout favored defenders too heavily.
All four sectors received changes designed to give attackers more room to move and more ways to use boats.
- Sector 1: two RHIBs were added, attacker Light Transport was replaced by an APC, Capture Point A was expanded, and B moved to a warehouse near the Marina.
- Sector 2: Capture Point B was expanded, attacker Light Transport became an APC, defender Light Transport became a Quad, and defender contested spawns were moved back.
- Sector 3: a new Capture Point was added across the waterway, attacker APC became Light Transport, the defender APC was removed, and Capture Point A was expanded.
- Sector 4: the sector now has one Capture Point instead of two, with the remaining dock objective expanded.
These are more substantial than simple spawn tweaks. The goal is to open up the map and create more flanking routes instead of forcing attackers through the same chokepoints.
Carrier Strike Changes
Carrier Strike and Fighter Sweep remain available through the rest of Season 4, but Tidal Strike also introduced changes aimed at reducing spawn pressure.
EA added new out-of-bounds areas to reduce spawn camping on the carrier deck. Jets also stop spawning directly on carriers after a breach and must instead be selected through the deploy screen.
Reticle, Optic and Weapon Changes
Update 1.4.3.0 includes a broad reticle pass designed to make sights easier to read against different backgrounds.
Reticles now have cleaner shapes, improved visibility, and revised glow effects where supported. EA also reduced several dots and other reticle elements that were larger or thicker than intended.
A new setting also lets players
disable Picture-in-Picture zoom on optics. With the option disabled, zoom comes from the full-screen field of view instead of combining FOV changes with extra magnification inside the optic.
Interdictor Balance Changes
The Interdictor received a larger balance pass after feedback following its Top Gun release.
- Minimum damage increased from 62 to 80.
- Limb damage now matches chest damage.
- Sweet spot damage decreased from 150 to 100.
- Sweet spot range changed to 120 to 160 meters.
- Damage against armor in REDSEC increased to 100 regardless of hit location or range.
- The Iron Sight attachment now costs 15 points.
The result is more consistent two-hit damage while removing some of the previous extreme sweet-spot behavior.
Battlefield 6 Vehicle Balance Changes
Tidal Strike also made several important vehicle changes, especially to the RCB90 Patrol Boat and Little Bird.
RCB90 Patrol Boat
The RCB90 is tougher and easier to control after the update.
- Health increased from 800 to 1000.
- Steering responsiveness was improved.
- Several camera, feedback, and Deploy Ramp issues were fixed.
AH-6 Little Bird
The Little Bird's Minigun now overheats faster, reducing how long it can maintain continuous fire.
Minigun overheat per bullet increased by around
33%, which means it reaches overheat roughly 1.5 seconds sooner during sustained firing. Minigun damage against RCB90 Patrol Boats and ATPs was also reduced by
50%.
Anti-Air Changes
Pilots no longer receive the directional lock-on indicator from the
SLM-93A and 9K38 Igla.
They still know they are being locked, but they no longer receive the same direct information about where the MANPAD user is positioned. This makes it harder for aircraft to immediately locate and retaliate against infantry using anti-air weapons.
REDSEC AFK, Ranked and Battle Royale Changes
Tidal Strike also introduced several quality-of-life changes for REDSEC.
The new
AFK Kick system detects inactive players and warns them before removing them from the match. The system accounts for normal situations where players temporarily have less control, such as spectating or waiting for redeployment.
Players can also report teammates for being AFK through EA Connect.
In Ranked, the pre-lobby leave penalty grace period was increased from
30 seconds to 3 minutes, making it harder to avoid penalties by leaving early.
Battle Royale received several smaller improvements too:
- Data Extraction download time was reduced from 15 seconds to 5 seconds.
- A grace period was added before a tank can be targeted by the Tank Hunter mission.
- Weapons Cache missions now award higher-rarity weapons based on squad level.
- Several redeployment, mission, loot, UI, and spectating issues were fixed.
New Battlefield Portal Features in Tidal Strike
Portal received one of the larger backend updates in Tidal Strike.
The biggest addition is
Sandbox Ocean, which gives creators an open-water base for building custom experiences. EA also added Wake Island to the SDK and expanded the tools available for water-based maps.
New water functions allow creators to control features such as:
- Water level.
- Wave amplitude.
- Beaufort scale.
- Player breath time.
- Events for entering, leaving, submerging, and emerging from water.
Portal also received new cloud VFX tools, improved AI water navigation, ping support for custom objectives, and several updates to Custom Conquest and Custom Breakthrough templates.
More Custom Lobby Modes
Custom Lobby support has also expanded to more modes, including:
- Tactical Obliteration
- Obliteration
- Breakthrough
- Escalation
- Rush
- Domination
- Team Deathmatch
- Squad Deathmatch
- Custom Experiences
This gives Portal creators more control over how custom Battlefield experiences can be hosted and played without relying on a standard public matchmaking setup.
Battlefield 6 Anniversary Event Is Still Coming
Tidal Strike is not the last Battlefield event planned for September.
EA is preparing a separate
two-week Battlefield 6 anniversary event toward the end of September. It will run alongside the normal playlist rotation and include its own challenges and rewards.
As of September 21, EA has not yet published the full anniversary challenge list, reward track, or exact start date.
This is separate from Deep Six.
Deep Six started September 15 and runs through October 12, while the anniversary celebration is another event scheduled for later in the month.
Everything in Battlefield 6 Tidal Strike
Tidal Strike is now much clearer than it was when EA first revealed the Season 4 roadmap.
Deep Six is live with the Royal Navy Dive Knife waiting at full completion, while the
Phantom Program has been solved and sends REDSEC players through Blacklight clues, encryption runs, three consecutive wins, and the final bunker defense.
Tsuru Reef Breakthrough received major layout changes, the RCB90 was strengthened, Little Bird Miniguns were toned down, reticles were reworked, and REDSEC received new AFK and Ranked systems. Portal also gained Sandbox Ocean and a larger set of creation tools.
The main feature still waiting on a fix is
Proximity Chat, which EA temporarily disabled after launch while investigating an issue. The next major item to watch is the Battlefield 6 anniversary event planned for later in September.
For players working on the hardest new Tidal Strike challenge, our
complete Phantom Program guide covers every step from the Blacklight Pistol through the 3-win streak and final bunker.
