BO7 Escalation Directive Event Guide - Rewards & Challenges

Escalation Directive is a Season 2 event in Black Ops 7 built around weapon class camo challenges. If you want every new static camo, animated mastery camo, and the final weapon reward, this guide breaks down how it works and what you can unlock.

What Is the Escalation Directive Event?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 kicks off Season 2 with a new event called Escalation Directive. It is designed for camo grinders, with multiple new camos across modes, including animated mastery rewards. Season 2 launches on February 5th, and the event is available across all modes.

How the Escalation Directive Event Works

The event is split by mode and by weapon class. You unlock rewards by completing Weapon Class Camo Challenges.

Weapon Class Progression (Key Rule)

If you unlock a camo for a weapon class in one mode, it does not unlock in the other modes. For example, earning an SMG camo in Zombies still means you must earn the SMG camo again in Multiplayer, Warzone, and Campaign/Endgame.

How Mastery Camos Are Earned

Within a given mode, you must complete all 9 weapon class camo challenges. When you finish all 9 classes in that mode and earn the four camos tied to each class, you unlock an Animated Mastery Camo for that mode.

There are 4 mastery camos total in this event, one for each mode.

All Escalation Directive Rewards in BO7 Season 2

There are 8 unique camos you can unlock through weapon class progression and mastery completion. Four are static and four are animated.

Static Camos

To unlock the static camo for a specific mode, you must individually unlock it for all 9 weapon classes in that mode.

Animated Camos (Mastery Rewards)

To unlock the animated mastery camo for a mode, you must fully complete the event requirements inside that mode. That means finishing the weapon class grind and earning the mode’s mastery reward.

Event Mastery Reward – SG-12

If you fully complete the event by earning all camos available, you unlock the SG-12 Shotgun. This weapon will feel familiar to players who enjoyed BO4, including classic-style prestige camo vibes tied to progression.
