Battlefield 6 vehicle progression can be confusing because the game separates vehicle levels by mastery track, while some NATO and Pax Armata vehicles share the same progression. Once you understand Hardware XP and how these tracks work, it becomes much easier to know what you actually need to level.

This guide explains all 13 current vehicle mastery tracks, which vehicles share levels, which transports cannot be leveled to 50, and the best ways to earn vehicle XP faster.

How Vehicle Progression Works in Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 uses different XP systems for different parts of progression. If your goal is to level a tank, helicopter, jet, or boat, Hardware XP is the XP that matters.

• Career XP: raises your overall player rank.
• Hardware XP: levels the weapon or vehicle you are using.
• Battle Pass XP: advances your seasonal Battle Pass.

Open Loadouts > Vehicles, choose the vehicle class you want, and open its Vehicle Mastery panel. This is where you can see the current Hardware Rank, upcoming equipment unlocks, and mastery rewards.

Since the Season 2 progression changes, actively using vehicles can also generate passive Hardware XP. Kills and assists remain important, so the fastest progress usually comes from staying alive while continuing to take part in fights.

What Is a Vehicle Mastery Track?

A mastery track is the progression path for one vehicle class. For example, Main Battle Tank has its own progression, while Infantry Fighting Vehicle has a different progression.

The important part is that the game levels the track, not always the individual faction model. This is why two vehicles can appear under one mastery class and use the same level. We list every current track below before explaining exactly which vehicles share progress.

Battlefield 6 Vehicle Mastery Levels and Rewards

Vehicle Hardware Rank unlocks equipment and cosmetics as you progress. The main mastery badge milestones are Rank 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50.


Along the way, progression can unlock primary and secondary weapons, equipment, countermeasures, skins, and camouflages depending on the vehicle class. Check the locked slot in the mastery menu to see the exact rank needed.

Rank 50 is the Elite mastery milestone. It does not automatically unlock cosmetics tied to the Store, Battle Pass, or limited-time events.

All 13 Battlefield 6 Vehicle Mastery Tracks

Battlefield 6 currently has 13 levelable vehicle mastery tracks: five Ground, seven Air, and one Naval. Each row below represents one separate progression path that can reach the Rank 50 mastery milestone.

Ground Vehicle Mastery Tracks

There are five Ground tracks. Light Ground Transport and Armored Transport focus more on mobility and squad support, while IFV, MBT, and Mobile Anti-Air are heavier combat classes. Even though all five appear under Ground, their levels are separate from each other.

Helicopter Mastery Tracks

Transport, Scout, and Attack Helicopter each have their own progression. Leveling the UH-79 will not raise your Little Bird or Attack Helicopter level.

Jet Mastery Tracks

There are four separate jet progressions: Attack Jet, Fighter Jet, Multirole Jet, and Interceptor Jet. The newer F/A-81F Super Spectre and F-74A Seacat do not share one jet level and are not part of the older Fighter Jet track.

Naval Vehicle Mastery

The current Naval mastery track is Patrol Boat, using the RCB-90. It has normal vehicle progression and can be leveled through its Hardware Ranks just like the Ground and Air mastery tracks.

Which Battlefield 6 Vehicles Cannot Be Leveled to 50?

Not every drivable vehicle has its own 1–50 Hardware Mastery track. The current non-mastery transports include:

• 7.7m NSW RHIB
• Dirt Bike
• Quad Bike / ATV
• Golf Cart

These vehicles can still be used during matches, but you should not treat them as extra mastery classes. Light Ground Transport, for example, specifically refers to the Glider 96 / VECTOR mastery track rather than every small transport in the game.

Do Battlefield 6 Vehicles Share Levels?

Yes. Vehicles listed inside the same mastery track share progression. The individual model can change with your faction, but the mastery level stays with the vehicle class.

For example, M1A2 SEPv3 and Leo A4 share Main Battle Tank mastery. If your Main Battle Tank track is Rank 30, you do not need to level the other faction's tank from Rank 1.

The same applies to pairs such as Glider 96 / VECTOR, Bradley / Strf 09 A4, and F-97 Kestrel / Su-57. However, different mastery tracks never share levels. Main Battle Tank XP does not level IFVs, and Fighter Jet XP does not level Attack Jets.

Do You Need to Level Every Vehicle Separately?

No. Think of Battlefield 6 vehicle progression by mastery track, not by every vehicle name. If two faction vehicles are listed in the same row of the table above, leveling that track once covers both.

Ordering vehicle leveling? Purchase only one vehicle per mastery class. Models within the same class share the level, so buying both faction variants is unnecessary.

How to Level Vehicles Fast in Battlefield 6

Once you choose the mastery track you want to level, the goal is to maximize useful time in that vehicle. Staying alive, getting kills and assists, choosing the right map, and avoiding long waits between spawns all make the grind more efficient.

1. Stay Alive and Keep the Vehicle Active

Do not trade your vehicle for one extra kill. Before pushing, know where you can retreat if you start taking heavy damage.

Back away, repair when safe, and return to the fight. Staying alive gives you more active vehicle time and more chances to earn kills, assists, and passive Hardware XP.

2. Prioritize Kills and Assists

Vehicle kills and assists are some of the most useful sources of Hardware XP. You also do not always need to be the driver to contribute, especially in multi-seat transports and helicopters.

Playing with a teammate who communicates can make a major difference. A good driver keeps the vehicle alive, while a good gunner keeps damage and assists coming in.

3. Play Around Objectives

Objectives naturally concentrate infantry and vehicles, which gives you more targets. Support your team from a position where you can still escape instead of parking directly on a flag with no cover.

Do not treat every scoreboard point as Hardware XP. Judge a method by the actual mastery progress you gain, not only by your final match score.

4. Use Hardware XP Boosters

If you are using an XP token, make sure it is a Hardware Booster. Career and Battle Pass boosts do not serve the same purpose when your goal is vehicle progression.

Activate the booster only when your loadout is ready and you are already in a playlist where your target vehicle appears regularly. This reduces wasted boosted time.

5. Choose Maps That Favor Your Vehicle

A tank needs firing lanes and safe routes to pull back. Helicopters need enough room to disengage, while Patrol Boat leveling obviously requires a layout with useful water access.

The best map is the one where you can reliably get your target vehicle and keep it active. A great infantry map can still be a poor vehicle-leveling map.

6. Learn Vehicle Spawn Timing

Vehicle slots are limited. If you lose your vehicle immediately, a large part of the match can turn into waiting for another spawn.

Watch the deployment screen, learn which layouts offer your target class, and check whether there is a useful crew seat available. Joining an active vehicle can be better than waiting several minutes for a fresh one.

7. Unlock the Most Important Equipment First

Check your next few Hardware Rank unlocks before a long leveling session. Better weapons, defensive equipment, and countermeasures can make later ranks easier because they improve your ability to survive or win fights.

Do not assume the highest-level item is always the best choice. Use the setup that fits the targets and threats you actually face.

Best Modes for Leveling Vehicles

Conquest is usually the safest starting point for vehicle leveling because large layouts provide more vehicle slots and longer combined-arms matches. Breakthrough and Escalation can also work well when the selected layout offers the class you need.

The recommendations below are starting points, not fixed XP-per-hour rankings. Vehicle availability can change by map and playlist.


If you want to compare two modes, note your mastery level or XP before and after several similar-length matches. Keep XP boosters consistent so the comparison is actually useful.

Can You Level Battlefield 6 Vehicles in Portal?

Yes, but the Portal experience must allow the relevant progression. Verified experiences can support normal progression, while heavily customized experiences can have restrictions.

Do not assume a server gives full vehicle Hardware XP just because its title includes “XP farm.” Before spending a long session there, check the experience information and test whether your selected vehicle's mastery bar actually moves.

• Check the progression rules before joining.
• Confirm your target vehicle is available in the experience.
• Test one match and compare your mastery progress afterward.

Portal can also be useful for practice even when full mastery progression is restricted. Just separate practice servers from actual leveling methods.

Fastest Route to Vehicle Mastery 50

For a focused grind, pick one mastery track, find a mode where it appears reliably, use a Hardware Booster, and prioritize staying alive while earning kills and assists. Repair and disengage instead of constantly restarting the vehicle spawn cycle.

Most importantly, do not grind both faction versions of the same mastery track. If the vehicles share a row in our mastery table, they share the progression.
