Overwatch Beta – Lucio – Tips & Tricks

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

overwatch lucio guide
Today our Overwatch boost team offers you a guide on Lucio, a hero coming hot from the Overwatch Beta. As you all know, since Blizzard decided not to release any Overwatch Beta Keys, it’s hard for many of you to have detailed informations about the heroes and the general Overwatch gameplay. That’s why we are providing these articles about our favourite heroes while we wait for the official Overwatch release date. Be sure to check our incoming Overwatch tier lists to see how your favourite heroes are placed during the Overwatch Beta.

Name: Lùcio Correia dos Santos
Age: 26
Origin: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Occupation: DJ / Freedom Fighter
Role: Support
Health: 200
Catchphrase: “Come on, let’s bring it together”

Backstory

Lùcio grew up in Rio de Janeiro within a crowded and poor favela. The Omnic Crisis hit Rio de Janeiro hard, creating a massive financial upheaval. In an attempt to uplift his community, Lùcio turned to music, becoming a street performer in order to bring a brief moment of joy into the lives of those who would listen as means to escape their woes.
Under the guise of wanting to help rebuild Rio de Janeiro to it’s former glory, the Vishkar Corporation secured a contract to redevelop Lùcio’s community. Rather than help the people, the Vishkar Corporation imposed tyrannic rules on the residents: curfews, enforcing harsh penalties on “lawless behaviour,” and exploiting the populace as a source of cheap labour. The corporation’s rules were enforced by the use of the sonic technology they developed that instilled enough fear in the people not to step out of line. Appalled by the treatment of his people, Lùcio stole the Vishkar Corporation’s sonic technology and used their very own tools of repression to inspire Rio de Janeiro to fight back. The Vishkar Corporation was driven out of the city, and Lùcio was heralded as a hero and became an international superstar in music.

Abilities

Sonic Amplifier
Lùcio shots many projectiles dealing damage. If he fires from close range, he will knock back and damage the enemies with a blast of sound.
Crossfade
This spell changes depending on Lucio’s song. It can be a heal or an Area of Effect movement speed buff.
Amp it Up
Lucio empowers his sound abilities.
Sound Barrier
Lùcio creates a shield for his team for a short amount of time.

Pros

Good mobility
Decent damage for a support
His kit has many ccs

Cons

Really squishy
Only one damaging ability
He can’t fight more than one enemy at once

Synergies

Winston is a great ally for Lucio because our favourite monkey really benefits from Lucio’s speed up. Working together they can catch squishy high mobility enemies (hello Tracer) and burst them down quickly. The movement speed buff has also great synergy with his ability to slide on walls, giving him an incredible chasing potential

Hanzo and Lucio are great together because of their unique mobility: they both have the passive ability to slide on walls without being separated like other heroes. This means that they can chase their prey at the same speed and over every terrain or obstacle. If you add Lucio’s heal and Hanzo’s insane damage, you have a really frightening combination

Tracer is the fastest hero in the game, Lucio is the second. This makes him the best support for Tracer, since he can follow her pretty easily, securing kills together and bringing heals and crowd controls to the table. It’s common to see this combination dominate in matches because many players realized its potential.

Counters

According to our Overwatch Boost Team, Junkrat is the ultimate counter to Lucio. His ultimate, RIP Tire, deals an absurd amount of area of effect damage instantly, making Lucio’s heal and shield useless. Junkrat can also create disruption in Lucio’s team with his knock back, making Lucio’s ultimate not really effective: Lucio’s skills really require perfect positioning to be useful.

Zarya is another great counter pick. She doesn’t have high damage, but compensates with her tankiness. Zarya can stick to Lucio and make his shield almost useless with her ultimate, Graviton Surge. This ability can pull enemies in a close range, incapacitate them while dealing damage. Since Lucio’s team will probably try to group in the same spot to get the most out of the shield, Zarya’s ultimate will be very effective. TL DR: if you are playing versus Zarya, don’t stand on the same pixel!

Lastly we have Reaper. We have already seen how much damage this hero can bring during the preview of the Overwatch gameplay with his ultimate, Death Blossom. Well, similarly to Zarya, this spell is incredibly effective versus enemies stacked in the same spot, because it deals an insane amount of aoe damage in a short time. This means that Lucio’s team can’t really use Lucio’s heals and shield effectively without the fear of getting smashed by Reaper.

Quick tips

Lucio’s playstyle depends on his songs. The key to use his Crossfade ability is to make the right choice between the heal and the movement speed. Consider your options and choose wisely
Try to communicate with your team to maximize the effectiveness of your ultimate.
Always focus the right alley with your heals and shields. When defending, try to protect your damage dealers. When attacking, try to protect your tanks.
How to counter Lucio
Lucio’s spells require his team to be stacked in the same place: this means that area of effect abilities are a great counter to Lucio
If you can’t out damage his heal with AoE damage, it’s better to use crowd controls and disruption abilities to isolate Lucio’s allies from him.

This ends our Lucio’s introduction. Remember to check our site in the next days for more articles, news about the official Overwatch release date, guides and our exclusive Overwatch tier lists.

Overwatch Beta – Zenyatta – Tips & Tricks

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

overwatch beta zenyattaOur Overwatch boost team continues the series of hero previews, today talking about Zenyatta. As you all know, since Blizzard decided not to release any Overwatch Beta Keys, it’s hard for many of you to have detailed informations about the heroes and the general Overwatch gameplay. That’s why we are providing these articles about our favourite heroes while we wait for the official Overwatch release date. Be sure to check our incoming Overwatch tier lists to see how your favourite heroes are placed during the Overwatch Beta!

Name: Tekhartha Zenyatta
Age: 20
Location: Shambali Monastery, Nepal
Occupation: Wandering Guru / Adventurer
Affiliation: The Shambali
Role: Support
Health: 50
Shield: 100
Catch Phrase: “True self is without form”

Backstory

Zenyatta is an Omnic monk and nomad. After the Omnic Crisis, he experienced a spiritual awakening, this awakening made him believe that he was more than an artificial intelligence, and that he has a soul. The realization that he had a soul drove the him and the other Omnic monks to wander, trying to heal humans, and teach them their ways in order to bring humans and robots back into harmony, repairing the damage done by the Omnic Crisis. This goal made the Omnic monks world famous, but Zenyatta did not agree with his peers methods, he felt that the best way to repair the problems created by the Omnic Crisis was through building connections with humans, engaging with them on a personal level. This lead Zenyatta away from the Shambali, wandering and helping people as he goes to overcome their struggles and find enlightenment.

Abilities

Orb of Destruction
Zenyatta summons five orbs. He can either launch one orb at the time or five of them quickly for more burst damage.
Orb of Harmony
Zenyatta sets an orb on a friendly hero. This orb will heal the ally passively until Zenyatta changes target or dies.
Orb of Discord
Zenyatta debuffs an enemy hero: he will take additional damage as long as Zenyatta lives or until he changes target.
Transcendence
Transcendence is an incredibly useful ultimate: it makes our hero totally invincible for six seconds, and heals Zenyatta during that duration. After casting his ultimate, he can’t use other spells for the duration of the invincibility.

Pros

Invulnerability allows to make great plays and baits
He is a support but has decent damage
Good buffs for his ally, especially because he doesn’t need to heal them actively
Good at assisting high burst assassins with his debuff
Excellent healing

Cons

Low mobility
Squishy
Having a selfistic ultimate has low value for a support
His spells are only single target: he has no Area of Effect buffs, debuffs or healings

Synergies

Zenyatta’s Orb of Harmony is a great supporting ability for Bastion, as he can stay safely in sentry mode and be more aggressive than usual, as Basion won’t be concerned by flanks and Zenyatta can roam around the map in the meanwhile. On the other hand Orb of Discord helps Bastion bursting down enemies quickly, allowing for a lot of kills on squishy targets.

Orb of Discord is incredibly useful for Winston too: our favourite monkey will deal an insane amount of damage with the help of the debuff, and Orb of Harmony increases his survivability making him an incredible duelist, especially because of the high synergy with Winston’s ultimate, that gives our monkey extra health and tankiness.

Playing Reaper with a Zenyatta on your team feels really good. Zenyatta can cast his Orb of Harmony on Reaper increasing his survivability: he doesn’t need to follow him around the map like other healers to assist him. With this buff Reaper can be more tanky and survive burst damage while being pretty aggressive. Orb of Discord will make his damage skyrocket as well: Reaper is a very strong hero that is expected to dominate the Overwatch tier lists, and he is really, really scarier with a Zenyatta on his team.

Counters

McCree specializes in burst damage, and we know that Zenyatta’s Orb of Harmony heals over time. This means that nuking a target in a matter of seconds can’t be helped and the passive heal won’t matter at all. If McCree hits an enemy with his ultimate he will surely kill them, and Zenyatta doesn’t have any ability to help his team mates survive the burst. Zenyatta himself has low mobility and can easily get caught in the fire.

Widowmaker is another counter for Zenyatta, as she likes to avoid team fights and focuses on killing low hp heroes before Zenyatta’s Orb of Harmony heals them. Her sniping abilities allow her to effectively hunt down Zenyatta, who has low mobility and health points: he won’t be able to move freely around the map when the Widowmaker sets her eyes on him. Also it’s very difficult to outplay her snipes with the invincibility as you need to have vision of her.

Mercy is another great counter for Zenyatta: she can buff her allies’ damage with her beam weapon. This buffs basically allows every hero to out dps Zenyatta, and will often force an ultimate in a close fight, forcing him into a bad position during key fights, especially in the later stages of the game.

Tips

If you are playing as Zenyatta, remember to always have your Orb of Harmony set on one target to maximize the healing output. Unlike other supports, you don’t need to do anything to heal your ally, so use this ability on heroes who don’t like to group (eg the Widowmaker) to increase their survivability.
The Orb of Discord should always be on your highest priority target: he will either way take more punishment or he will need to play more defensively, neutralizing the threat.
If you are getting focused or if you are caught out of position, don’t panic! Your ultimate will heal you while making you invulnerable, so consider your options: sometimes you can retaliate the damage.

How to Counter

Zenyatta is squishy and has low hp. Most of her buffs are indirect, so killing him is the best way to remove those buffs and debuffs.
Remember the despite being a support, Zenyatta’s damage is incredibly high, especially if he decides to quickly set his Orb of Discord on you to increase his burst.

Overwatch Beta – Roadhod Tips & Tricks

By | Uncategorized | One Comment

Hello guys! Our Overwatch boost team continues their series of hero previews today talking about Roadhog. As you all know, since Blizzard decided not to release any Overwatch Beta Keys, it’s hard for many of you to have detailed informations about the heroes and the general Overwatch gameplay. That’s why we are providing these articles about our favourite heroes while we wait for the official Overwatch release date. Be sure to check our incoming Overwatch tier lists to see how your favourite heroes are placed during the Overwatch Beta!
overwatch beta roadhog
Name: Mako Rutledge
AKA: Roadhog
Age: 48
Location: Junkertown, Australia
Occupation: Enforcer / Bodyguard
Affiliation: Australian Liberation Front / Junkers
Role: Tank
Health: 600
Armor: 0
Catch Phrase: “I’m a one-man apocalypse!”

Backstory

After the Omnic Crisis, the government gave them Australian Omnium and the surrounding area in the hopes that it would restore peace and bring back balance. As a resident of the area, Roadhog was forced out of his home alongside the majority of the Outback’s residents. Being forced out of their homes is what turned these once peaceful people to violence. Roadhog helped form the Australian Liberation Front and fought back against the omnium, thriving as his took full advantage of his natural brutality and affinity for violence. After a particularly potent strike on the omnic power core, his home turned to a desolate wasteland covered in radiation. In order to survive in these harsh conditions he wore a mask and began roaming the highways of the Outback, losing more and more of his humanity until the only thing that remained was Roadhog, the ruthless killer.

Abilities

Scrap Gun
Roadhog launches a blast from his shotgun that deals an high amount of damage, but has short range. Roadhog can charge this ability to fire a shrapnel at a longer distance.
Take a Breather
8 seconds cd. Roadhog rapidly heals himself for a short time.
Chain Hook
Roadhog launches an hook at a target location. Any enemy hero hit by the hook is pulled toward Roadhog. This ability can interrupt channels but can’t target allies.
Whole Hog
Roadhog modifies his weapon, that goes fully in automatic mode, firing high damage bullets that knockback enemies.

Pros

-Tanky, he has a lot of hit points
-Good damage
-Doesn’t rely on healers
-His hook offers a decent CC

Cons

-No mobility at all
-Doesn’t have a shield
-Half a hero if he misses the hook
-Poor utility in teamfights; he excels in skirmishes and in picking off enemies out of position – that’s why he won’t shine in the upcoming Overwatch tier lists.

Synergies

The perfect support for Roadhog is Zenyatta. As we said Roadhog isn’t a good teamfighter, so most of the time he will roam around the map alone (thanks to his hook and decent damage). Zenyatta can heal him passively with her Orb of Harmony, so our strong independent tank doesn’t need to stop his chases.

Another great hero to pair with Roadhog is Winston, our overpowered monkey. They are both tanks with high damage and crowd controls, and they make a scary dynamic duo. They can pull off a game changing combo in the later stages of the match: both their ultimate deal a good amount of damage and knock back enemies: Winston’s ultimate has low range, while Roadhog doesn’t. If they are able to chain their abilities they can easily defend any objective on the map.

Torbjörn is another great addition to a team with Roadhog, thanks to his armor tossing ability. The extra armor is even more useful on tanky heroes like Roadhog, that already has a giant health pool, increasing effectively his survivability and making him great at dueling squishy assassins like Tracer who won’t be able to burst him down or to retaliate.

Counters

Widowmaker is probably the best tank killer in the game, and is really effective vs Roadhog because he lacks armor. She can literally snipe him from the other side of the map and kill him in one or two shot, without much counterplay opportunities. She is great at countering tanks because she can lower their hp bar with low effort, neutralizing their engages.

Reinhardt’s shield is probably Roadhog’s worst nightmare, as it can negate totally his ultimate and most of his damage and crowd controls. Without his ultimate dps and the knock back Roadhog is half a hero. Reinhardt’s ultimate is also great at blocking any move from Roadhog, making him almost useless.
Tips & Tricks
Roadhog isn’t great in teamfights, so he is best used to duel lone enemies or to keep them away from objectives
He compensates his lack of mobility with his crowd controls: he doesn’t need to dash to a target if he can pull them in with his hook or knock them away with his ultimate
Speaking of his crowd controls, he can manipulate easily the position of his enemies if he is able to chain the hook and his ultimate.

How To Counter Roadhog

Roadhog is a “lone hero”: normally he won’t group with his team, so try not to fight him in a 1vs1 but force a big team fight, where his team will effectively lack a member.
Roadhog doesn’t have great mobility, so if you can pick a fight when he is far away from the team he won’t be able to do much
Shields in general are the best counter to Roadhog, as they can block his hook and his ultimate. This is why we saw many Roadhog players crying in a corner when facing a good Reinhardt.

Overwatch Beta – Widowmaker Tips & Tricks

widowmaker overwatch beta
Hello guys! Our Overwatch boost team continues their series of hero previews today talking about Widowmaker. As you all know, since Blizzard decided not to release any Overwatch beta keys, it’s hard for many of you to have detailed informations about the heroes and the general Overwatch gameplay. That’s why we are providing these articles about our favourite heroes while we wait for the official Overwatch release date. Be sure to check our incoming Overwatch tier list to see how your favourite heroes are placed during the Overwatch Beta!

Name: Amélie Lacroix
AKA: Widowmaker
Age: 33
Location: Annecy, France
Occupation: Assassin
Affiliation: Talon
Role: Defence
Health: 200
Catch Phrase: “One shot, one kill.”
Backstory
The perfect assassin, Widowmaker has kept her past as much a mystery as her current location. The common conclusion about who she was before she became Widowmaker is Amélie Lecroix, wife to Gérard Lecroix, an Overwatch agent tasked with developing the operations to take down Talon, a terrorist organization. After several unsuccessful attempts on Gérard’s life, Talon focused on Amélie, his wife. Talon kidnapped her and subjected her to intense neural reprogramming. Once they broke her will they numbed her personality, shaped her mind until she was the perfect sleeper agent. Two weeks after she was found by Overwatch, she killed her husband in his sleep and returned to Talon to complete her training, becoming their most effective assassin to date.

Abilities

Widow’s Kiss: the Widowmaker’s main weapon is a sniper rifle; however her weapon is able to change stance to fight in medium-short range.. Unlike the typical sniper, she can fight in melee range thanks to this ability, since her rifle can switch in automatic mode.
Grappling Hook:12 seconds cd. Widowmaker fires an hook at a target location. As soon as the hook connects with an objective or an enemy, she is pulled to the location. This spell can make our sniper pretty mobile and allows her to make both offensive and defensive plays.
Widow Mine:Widowmaker casts a venomous trap to the ground. If an enemy walks too close to the mine, it will explode, releasing a poisonous cloud that deals area of effect damage
Infra-Sight:This is Widowmaker’s signature abilities. Upon activation, this spell grants her and her whole team vision through walls and objects, making her great at chasing enemies and hunting down heroes that are trying to hide.

Pros:

-High burst damage
-Decent mobility
-Good utility for her team thanks to Infra Sight
-Long range

Cons:

-Squishy
-Not really useful in team fights, she shines only in small skirmishes, chases and in picking enemies out of position.
-Low firing rate, as every sniper.
-Her damage is only single target.

Synergies

The perfect hero to support Widowmaker is Symmetra. She can use her sentries to protect our sniper as she picks off targets from long range, keeping her safe from potential flanks. Since Symmetra can place six sentries, she can offer perfect cover to Widowmaker.
In general every tank has good synergy with Widowmaker, as her damage is so high that she just needs protection from the enemies while she snipes from safety.

Counters

Winston is probably Widowmaker’s worst nightmare. His shield will totally neutralize her ability to snipe enemies from long distance, and he can just destroy her if she reveals herself. The automatic mode of the sniper rifle can’t really defend Widowmaker from our favourite monkey. She is pretty easy to burst down in melee range, and that’s the reason why she doesn’t really dominate the Overwatch tier lists.

Tips and Tricks

Use your hook to reach safe spots for sniping your targets
Don’t group with your teams: Widowmaker is a poor team fighter and should focus on picking enemies out of position
Following on the previous tip, don’t camp one spot, but move after a few shots. She has great mobility, take advantage of that!
Your priority targets are squishies, mainly carries and supports.

How To Counter:

Tanks and heroes with shields in general can neutralize her power
For specific hero, Winston and Reinhardt can make her feel useless
Despite her Widow’s kiss, she is still vulnerable in melee range, so heroes with gap closers are great versus her.

Overwatch Beta – Junkrat Tips & Tricks

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

overwatch beta junkrat
Good evening fellas! Today our Overwatch boost team started a serie of detailed hero previews: since Blizzard decided not to release any Overwatch Beta Key, it’s hard for many of you to have detailed informations about the heroes and the general Overwatch gameplay. That’s why we are providing these articles about our favourite heroes while we wait for the official Overwatch release date: today we start with Junkrat. Be sure to check our incoming Overwatch tier lists to see how your favourite heroes are placed during the Overwatch Beta!

Name: Jamison Fawkes
AKA: Junkrat
Age: 25
Location: Junkertown, Australia
Occupation: Anarchist / Thief / Demolitionist / Mercenary / Scavenger
Affiliation: Junkers
Role: Defence
Health: 200
Catch Phrase: “It’s a perfect day for some MAYHEM!”

Backstory

As one of the survivors of the Australian Liberation attack on the omnium core, Junkrat became one of the Junkers, scavenging the wasteland of Australia’s Outback. Like everyone else in the area, Junkrat was subject to side effects from the radiation caused by the explosion, making him less and less sane, but his mind was perfect for handling the explosives he became obsessed with. During his scavenging of the Omnium wreckage, he made a discovery, not many know what he found, but countless bounty hunters, gangs, and other dregs of society eagerly hunted him down for this secret. This lead to Junkrat forming an alliance with Roadhog, the fellow Junker became his bodyguard, splitting any bounty they got on the road 50-50.

Abilities

Frag Launcher
Frag Launcher is Junkrat’s basic attack. It has a long range and fires grenades that can bounce and explode as soon as they touch an enemy. Even the basic attack is pretty hard to land and offers opportunities for a lot of cool plays if you can master the bounces.

Concussion Mine
125 damage, 8 seconds cool down.
According to me, this is Junkrat’s coolest ability. He can place a mine on the battleground and detonate them: pretty standard stuff, right? However, enemies caught will jump in the air, and if Junkrat himself is in the explosion range he will fly! Again, it seems that Blizzard was inspired by Team Fortress 2 for this mechanic

Steel Trap
Junkrat sends out a big metal trap. If an enemy gets caught by his deadly trap, it will close snaring him and dealing damage. The damage itself isn’t high, but enemies immobilized should be more worried about the follow up!

Total Mayhem
Junkrat is a persistent fella, and he somehow manages to send a gift to his enemies upon dying: after being killed he launches many grenades at his location.

RIP-Tire
RIP-Tire is an hell of ability. Just like his other abilities, it involves an explosive, precisely a freaking tire bomb launched across the map. This tire will fly around, over obstacles and walls and can be detonated by Junkrat to deal an incredible area of effect damage, or explode on its own.

Pros

-Great burst and sustained damage
-One of the best ultimate in the game for AoE damage
-Causes disruption in the enemy team

Cons

-Very squishy
-Low mobility except for his mine
-Has a hard time dealing with heroes with vertical mobility
-He can be punished during his ultimate’s cast time

Synergies

Mercy is probably the best hero to support Junkrat. With her buff, his RIP-tire damage will skyrocket (no pun intended), and can probably one shot most of the enemies.
His passive ability has an incredible synergy with Mercy’s ultimate, because he will spawn grenades, come back to life and then re spawn them as soon as he dies again for increased damage. On top of this, her healings can really increase his survivability, especially if he is punished for firing his ultimate.

Another great support is Zarya: she can protect him during his ultimate, like Mercy, but she has also a great tool in her ultimate: Junkrat can set up many explosives and mines where Zarya uses her ultimate, dealing a massive amount of damage.

Counters

In general, heroes with vertical mobility are a hard matchup for Junkrat, but especially Pharah. It’s hard for his basic attack to hit her, as they are designed to explode on the ground after bouncing; and it’s even harder to hit the other abilities, as the mines and explosive are supposed to be cast on the ground! Even the RIP Tire is pretty hard to direct in the air and can be easily dodged.

Just like Pharah, Tracer can dodge most of Junkrat’s abilities thanks to her absurde mobility. However Junkrat can really destroy Tracer in a matter of seconds if she get caught in his Steel Traps, that effectively neutralize her escapes.

Map Synergy

Junkrat is really strong in the Jackpot map: in the Overwatch tier list for that specific map, Junkrat get extra points because he can set up his explosives and mines around the Payload, setting up many ambush opportunities for players who try to secure it. We are waiting for more maps to be released during the Overwatch beta, so we may see more favourable battlegrounds for our destroyer.

General tips

Junkrat is designed to be a back line hero: stay away from the center of the battle and shoot from safety. Remember to place your traps in strategic spot to maximize their zoning potential
Steel Traps are really effective vs heroes like McCree or Tracer: if they get caught, be sure to nuke them down when they are vulnerable
How to counter Junkrat
Try to understand the spots on the map where Junkrat may place his traps: soon or later you will learn to anticipate them
Understand the trap placing behaviour of the Junkrat player you are facing: if he has success placing explosive in a certain spot, he probably will place them again in the same place
Junkrat is really squishy and has low mobility: if you manage to catch him out of position, he is a good target for nuke abilities

Let us know feedback about this Junkrat’s overview! Our Overwatch Boost Team reminds you that Blizzard decided not to release any Overwatch beta key, so don’t get scammed! To get a sample of the Overwatch gameplay, check our guides, watch the stream on Twitch or wait for an official Overwatch beta invite from Blizzard.
