In a 5v5 teamfight, there are forty potential abilities to deal with. This creates a chaotic scene that is difficult to analyze in the moment. Every single move in this phase could decide the ultimate fate of a team. So, making a mistake in a teamfight could very well cost your team the entire game. In this guide, our LoL boost
team will discuss kiting, positioning, initiation, and flanking, all key aspects of every teamfight. If you can master these features, you will frequently come out on top and avoid being blamed for screwing up a teamfight.
Initiation is defined as starting the teamfight. This can happen in a number of ways and is best achieved by certain champions. One common way of initiation is Malphite’s ultimate since it affects multiple champions and forces them to come close to the opponent. Another is a teleportation move behind enemy lines in order to trap them. Basically, the initiation prevents one side from running away, forcing them to all fight.
However, initiation is actually a very complex tactic below the surface. Since the map contains so many walls and bushes, the area where you initiate is important to your success. Certain champions do better in tight areas, where others perform well in the open. It is everyone’s job to identify your team composition, and base your initiation off of it. Dodging is much easier in the open too, and some of your allies may prefer the location. Since the location of a fight determines advantages, be sure to consider where you are trying to initiate. Also, you can’t really be too specific because situations are dynamic and your initiation time won’t always go as planned. You may have to make some slight adjustments, and your team needs to be aware of that beforehand. If the enemy is positioned incorrectly, it’s always a great time to initiate. Never hesitate when initiating as you have to fully commit to a fight in order to win. This goes for your teammates as well. Positioning is based on the champions being played by both your team and the opposition, playstyles, and everyone’s skills. We elo boost specialists often envision position as three layers. The first line is called the frontline, where everyone is looking to initiate. The next is the middle-line, where bruisers roam and are ready to help, depending on the situation. team. Teams with a lot of initiation need to be kited. This means taking little damage while dealing a ton of it. You have to move barely in range to land a shot, usually ranged, and dodge their attack by retreated. Continuing this cycle for a while will drain health from your enemies while keeping your team very strong. Then, a full initiation should take place, which will win you the fight. . Damage per second is important while kiting, because you need to do as much as possible in a short period. If you do not kite enough, positioning may become unfavorable, or players might leave the area. Flanking is a great way to counter kiting too, as it prevents opponents from retreating. The final concept we will be going over is called flanking. As we discussed, flanking is a effective way to counter kiting. Upfront fighting is harder to achieve in higher competitive tiers, so flanking is a great alternative. Flankers can jump walls or charge in for surprise attacks, making them extremely effective. Teleporting to wards is an amazing strategy for flanking. It’s not too difficult, and can wreck the enemy. Assassin players are also the best for flanks since they do a lot of damage and get away. Lurking behind enemy lines and waiting for an opportunity is the best method to be successful with an assassin champion who flanks.
In the late-game, fights evolve to be more objective based rather than kill-based. Your team needs to target certain champions to kill and certain teammates to protect. Choosing these objectives can be a challenge, and really depends on your situation. Still, practice the four methods we went over in any scenario. With those mastered, you will likely come out on top in the majority of teamfights you are involved in.
