Hello lads! Today our LoL elo boost team will talk yet again about solo queue, focusing on what role is the best for you. As you all know, LoL is based on teamwork, and to assist your team and win as many games as possible you should first understand what kind of player you are, and then find the perfect champions for you. If you still haven’t found out what is your peculiar playstyle don’t worry, we got you covered.

This guide will cover the four most popular stereotypes: passive, roaming, hit or miss and playmaker. Understanding what kind of player you are is extremely important and will allow you to play the best champions to climb the ladder. During our duo queue boost sessions I see that many players lose the game during the champion select because they don’t play champions that suit their playstyle. Learn your strengths, and play accordingly if you want more LP!

Passive

This is one of the most common playstyles in lower elos, and probably it’s the hardest to win with. Adopting a passive playstyle means not trying to outplay your enemy and winning the lane, but focusing on farming and capitalizing on your opponents’ mistakes. You won’t be the guy making huge plays, but wait for the mid-late game before making your moves. The risk here is that your team may fall behind in the early mid game: during our duo queue boost sessions we noticed that in lower elos many players can’t survive in bad match ups, and will feed their enemies over and over if they are behind. With a passive playstyle you won’t be able to assist a team member in difficulty.

This playstyle is best suited for those who don’t have great mechanics and prefer simple, late game champions, usually tanks in the top lane or in the jungle, playing with a more supportive play style. If you find yourself in this position, our LoL boost team wrote down a few “passive” champions for each position in the current meta:

Top: Sion, Nasus, Malphite Mid: Cassiopeia, Anivia, Orianna Jungle: Master Yi, Dr. Mundo, Shyvana ADC: Jinx, Sivir, Tristana Support: Soraka, Nami, Janna

Hit Or Miss

This is another risky playstyle, but for the opposite reason: this kind of players are very aggressive in the early game, trying to cheese their opponents and get an advantage in lane to snowball the game, closing before the late game. According to our elo boost team, this is the typical “smurf” playstyle, as it best suits players with great mechanics but with poor late game coordination and macro in general. In the new season, this strategy is pretty rewarding since games are more snowbally and will usually finish before the 30-35 minutes mark.

If you find yourself getting always ahead in lane but losing in the late game because of poor decision making, try using these champions and close the game as soon as possible: Top: Riven, Pantheon, Darius Mid: Zed, Fizz, Leblanc Jungle: Shaco, Rengar, Nidalee ADC: Graves, Draven, Lucian Support: Karma, Brand, Sona

Be aware: failing to win the early game will usually result in a loss, so it’s an extremely risky playstyle. It will work fine in bronze and silver and even in gold or platinum, but in higher elo capitalizing on enemies’ mistakes will become harder and harder. Try to adapt your play style to your elo.

Playmaker

Pretty straightforward: playmakers are key members of every team. They have good mechanics and are usually good shot callers. Maybe they aren’t the strongest laners and aren’t great at csing, but they compensate their weaknesses with exceptional performance in high stress situations, performing well in team fight.

If you are a “playmaker”, according to our lol boosting team you should play champions with game changing ultimates, that can turn the tide of a fight. Here are a few playmaker heroes for every role: Top: Sion, Malphite, Wukong Mid: Cassiopeia, Yasuo, Orianna Jungle: Sejuani, Nunu, Amumu ADC: Miss Fortune, Tristana, Vayne Support: Sona, Alistar, Leona

Roamer

Roamers usually can climb faster than other players because they move around the map all the time, punishing not only their lane opponent but every single player on the map, helping their teammates in every moment. According to our LoL elo boost team, if you are confident in your roaming ability try these champions, and you won’t regret it: Top: Volibear, Pantheon, Shen Mid: Leblanc, Fizz, Twisted Fate Jungle: Rengar, Nidalee, Shaco, Lee Sin ADC: Tristana, Lucian, Ashe Support: Bard, Thresh, Blitzcrank

These heroes are great roamers because they have great mobility, hard crowd controls, high burst damage or global ability that allow them to apply a huge map pressure, so they are the best gankers.

However playing a roaming champion usually comes with a price: roaming a lot means that you will be behind in lane, especially if your roam is not successful. Roamers don’t excel in mid/late game teamfight and have to either finish the game as soon as possible, or get “carried” by their allies, who should be decently fed thanks to their help.

As you saw, you can carry with pretty much any champion in the game, and with every play style, as long as you know what you’re doing and emphasize your strengths.
